••• More than ever engaged in the lengthly release of the Trilogy as a gradual process, and all the while engaged in all sorts of commitments, which, added to my infectious perfectionism, interfere with the pace of the releases, I am nevertheless determined to make 2012 the year of full and final delivery.

|| "DROIT D'AUTEUR", A HUMAN RIGHT ||

••• At a time when music industry bashing has become a worldwide trend in the name of 'virtual progress', I decided I could no longer shy away from defending the 'droit d'auteur'. These last 3 years, I got involved in SACEM, the french equivalent for ASCAP/BMI or PRS. I felt this was the best way I could get to learn and experience, from within, all that was at stake, mechanisms, figures, facts. So much nonsense has been spread about what is or should be done, yielding in making enemies from those who've always used to benefit from each other in the end: the artists, their producers/publishers, the media and the public. What a collective suicidal turnover.

••• I believe the 'droit d'auteur' is a human right, that can only be better served and protected by those, like me, who happen to make a living from it. It is my life, and it was high time I got involved. I therefore decided to run for member of the board, which nearly happened last summer. I will give it another try next time around.

••• Things have to be said, issues have to be addressed, and nonsense has to be revealed and fought. A zero-casualty revolution could take place, leaving no one in the dark, I am certain. It's not too late, far from it: it's all about willing to make it happen. My June 18th 2009 call for the future of the "Digitizable Art" was just a landmark in this crusade .

••• I've got quite a handful of time&energy-consuming issues I could not elude any longer. Some of which are, without going full detail, for strategic reasons:

••• Negotiations with major labels owning the masters and copyright of my past work, so we could get some re-issues in a forseable future.

••• Ex-Level 42 Phil Gould and I are in the process of putting a band together.
